C'est la vie...9.2017

So....a few weeks ago I checked my site for some size info on a painting, and lo and behold, everything past the splash page was gone. The entire site was lost to the digital aether, with nothing left. Nada. Zilch. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

Since then I've been working on getting things back up and running. Luckily, most of the core info is saved in a minimum of triplicate on my laptop, but some of it has proven tricky to track back down. Annnnd I don't 100% remember what all I had on the site, how it looked, and other details that had me pretty stressed out. But in the interest of being zen about things, I started from the ground up, using a new platform and only holding on to the few aspects of the old site that seemed important.

News, About, and Portfolio are largely the same. I'm working on expanding the Curatorial & Critical Writing section to reach a little deeper into my prior (and occasionally reanimated) life as a Curator and essayist. This platform doesn't make uploading PDFs of the essays easy, so I'm working on uploading the actual catalogs that they've appeared in as a workaround.

The biggest loss is a couple of slideshows that appeared as blog posts on the old site and which allowed me to share images from shows, lectures, and openings along with the work that artists shared with me in studio visits during visiting artist gigs. I'll try and resurrect them in some form, but in the meantime, they can be tracked down in my instagram feed @jasonlahrpaintr

Here's to a new start and a (hopefully) more stable platform...
